MONTGOMERY - In the first of two district 2 GOP Congressional debates on Monday night, June 28th, Marine Corps veteran and 2nd District Congressional candidate Rick Barber won the night over opponent Martha Roby, receiving uproarious applause when moderator Ken Curtis posed a question concerning the United Nations.

After Martha Roby affirmed support for American dealings at the UN, Barber wowed the crowd and received the most thunderous ovation of the night when he said, "I've got a different approach.  I think America should ditch the UN, and see how they fare without America."

After the ovation, Barber went on to explain that America continually foots the bill for the lion's share of the UN's expenses.  He stated that the UN continually sides against American interests, often stands with our enemies when it comes to sanctions, and continues to push one world government programs over focusing on peace between nations.

"The UN has outlived its usefulness," says Barber.  "It's become a farce.  If we leave, we can use direct diplomacy and be more effective in advancing American interests and peace through strength."

Barber's strong stands have again caught national interest in his latest internet ad, entitled "Slavery."  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn14RwuJJRg

The "Slavery" ad was released yesterday and has already received more than 54,000 views on youtube, as well as a feature on Keith Olbermann.

On Wednesday, June 30th, Rick Barber will have two nationally televised interviews to discuss the ads on MSNBC's "Hardball with Chris Matthews" and on Fox Business Channel's "America's Nightly Scoreboard" with David Asman.
